Our History

In 2009, Serenity Of Mind And Body began as Emanuel Counseling Services By Jack Williams, LPC. As an addict himself and going through recovery, he set out to create a place where recovering people like himself can go and feel welcomed.  He and a local doctor began helping people as Jack understood that you could not know how a person feels unless you have been in their shoes. He knew that that drug addiction is not a choice but a disease. As his practice grew and to keep it going, he worked other jobs, and eventually, more and more people started coming to him for help.

In 2016, Jack Williams passed away, and his brother took over the business. He brought in a counselor yet again, helping the clinic grow.

Today, Serenity of Mind and Body is run by Jack Willams’ daughter, Alyson Cannady, who is dedicated to continuing her father’s mission – To treat addicts as people.
